Trisha Nelson, aged 28, tragically lost her life on February 12, 2016, in Plymouth, Minnesota. On that fateful day, Trisha was shot and run over by her fiancé, Corey Perry, who was also 28 years old. The Medical Examiner determined that Trisha's death resulted from complex homicidal violence, including multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses at the scene reported that Trisha exited a large vehicle and pleaded for help from the occupants of a car as Perry chased her, firing as many as 20 shots in
her direction. After shooting her, Perry ran her over at high speed.
Following the incident, Corey Perry fled to the apartment he shared with Trisha, located a few miles away. Several people at the apartment complex called the police to report a man with a gun. When the police arrived, gunshots were exchanged, and Perry was shot. However, the autopsy revealed that Perry died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Perry was wearing tactical gear and was in possession of multiple weapons. Although there was no documented history of abuse against Trisha, family and friends indicated that Perry had been abusive towards her, with his behavior escalating in the last year. Perry also had a history of public violence, including the use of his firearm, and was on felony probation at the time of the murder-suicide.
