On a spring afternoon in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on May 3, 2019, the life of 21-year-old Marquez Perry-Banks of Maplewood was tragically cut short. The young Black / African American male was in the parking lot of the Maryland Supermarket in the city's North End when violence erupted. Around noon, a Jeep Commander pulled up, and a man emerged, opening fire on Perry-Banks as he sat in the driver's seat of his own vehicle.
