On May 30, 2024, 21-year-old Toumai Gaynor of St. Paul, Minnesota, was fatally shot in the city's North End neighborhood. Around 2:30 a.m., St. Paul police responded to reports of a shooting on the 800 block of Simcoe Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a yard; inside, Gaynor was found with life-threatening gunshot wounds to his head and neck. He was transported to Regions Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
