Charity Grace Hoffelt, aged 41, was found dead on August 11, 2019, near the Sparta Cemetery in Montevideo, Minnesota. Hoffelt, originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was discovered alongside Andy Edward Wilcox, aged 42, also from Sioux Falls. Both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds. Wilcox was transported to North Memorial Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office determined that Hoffelt's death was a suicide by gunshot wound.
The investigation revealed that Hoffelt and Wilcox were in a relationship. Authorities responded to a request from Wilcox's family, who were concerned about his well-being and believed he was suicidal. Using the Find My iPhone app, deputies located the pair. A deputy was nearby when the shots were fired.
There were no suspects or arrests made in connection with the deaths, as the authorities concluded that Hoffelt's death was a suicide and Wilcox's death was under investigation pending further autopsy results. The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office stated that there were no public safety risks related to the incident.
