In the late evening hours of a Tuesday in south Minneapolis, violence erupted on the 2700 block of Bloomington Avenue, forever altering the course of several lives. It was September 28, 2021, when multiple gunshots echoed through the neighborhood, drawing the swift response of law enforcement. Arriving at the chaotic scene, officers discovered three men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of these men, 54-year-old James Maurice Williams, a Black male, was found unresponsive.
