On August 7, 2022, Mohamed Omar, a 29-year-old resident of Minneapolis, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds at the intersection of East 38th Street and Chicago Avenue. The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m., and Omar's death marked the 55th homicide investigation in Minneapolis for that year.
