In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 29, 2016, the life of Jonta J. Adams, a 22-year-old Black / African American male from Leavenworth, Kansas, was tragically cut short. His body was discovered in a parking lot near the intersection of Sixth and Cherokee streets at approximately 6:30 a.m. a victim of fatal gunshot wounds. When law enforcement arrived, Mr. Adams was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
