On a late Saturday morning, August 27, 2016, the life of 24-year-old Hispanic male Daniel Flores of Dodge City, Kansas, was cut short in a burst of violence. Emergency responders were called to the 500 block of East Pancake in Liberal, Kansas, around 11:18 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men had been shot. Daniel Flores was pronounced dead at the scene. The second individual, a 20-year-old male, was also wounded.
