In the quiet landscape near Milford Lake, Kansas, the life of a young, Black U.S. Army Specialist was cut short on March 18, 2018. Ronald Cornelius Church Jr., a 23-year-old male stationed at Fort Riley, was discovered deceased in his vehicle. An initial investigation by the Geary County Sheriff's Office revealed that Church had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
