Slater, a White/Caucasian male from Kansas City, Missouri, was found deceased inside a vehicle. The car was located in the 3100 block of Kimball Avenue, where officers from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department had responded to a shooting call at approximately 7:13 a.m.
Upon their arrival, the scene painted a somber
picture. Slater had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, and his death was quickly classified as a homicide.
