On December 3, 2022, Ryan Matthew Holcomb, a 45-year-old male from Chanute, Kansas, tragically lost his life in Allen County. The circumstances of his death unfolded dramatically, beginning with a man walking into the Allen County Sheriff's Department to make a statement. This man was identified as 43-year-old Casey M. Dye of Petrolia, Kansas.
Based on the information Dye provided, law enforcement officers were dispatched to an automotive glass shop in Chanute.
Inside the shop, they discovered Ryan Holcomb's body in a vehicle. It was determined that Holcomb had died from fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation, a joint effort between the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Allen County Sheriff's Office, and the Neosho County Sheriff's Office, suggests a grim sequence of events.
