Christopher Sher Eney, aged 37, tragically died on August 24, 1984, in Washington, DC. He was a Sergeant with the U.S. Capitol Police and was the first officer from this department to be killed in the line of duty. His death occurred during a Containment Emergency Response Team (CERT) training exercise, which is akin to a SWAT team drill.
