On a spring afternoon in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the peace, leaving a family to grapple with a sudden and violent loss. Twenty-nine-year-old Andre Pierce Joyner of Fort Washington, Maryland, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on April 25, 2014, in the 600 block of Morris Place, Northeast, near an elementary school.
