On a Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunshots broke the calm in the 4000 block of Wheeler Road SE. It was approximately 10:17 p.m. on May 10, 2016, when members of the Seventh District responded to the alert. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
