Kennedy Javier Amaya-Olivares, a 19-year-old aspiring rapper, was tragically shot and killed on July 8, 2017, in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred early Saturday morning in the 3500 block of Water Street, NW. Amaya-Olivares was found with apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by the time emergency workers arrived. Another unidentified victim was also shot and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
