On August 9, 2020, 17-year-old Christopher "Popi" Brown was tragically killed during a block party in the Greenway neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when multiple shooters opened fire on the crowd. Brown, a teenage father, was among the 21 people shot, including an off-duty D.C. police officer who was critically injured.
