On July 25, 2021, Jovan Hill Jr., a 22-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was tragically shot and killed in a courtyard located in the 100 block of Q Street Northwest. The incident occurred in broad daylight, around 3:38 PM, while Hill was waiting for his girlfriend to get off work. Alongside Hill, 19-year-old Tariq Riley was also fatally shot, and a third young man was injured but survived.
