On the evening of March 30, 2011, Michael Portaro, a 22-year-old White/Caucasian male, was in the parking lot of the Tenaya Creek Brewery in Las Vegas, Nevada. An aspiring hip-hop artist known as "Mikey P," he was there selling tickets for an upcoming performance by his group, Ekoh. A former high school quarterback and a beloved son, Portaro was pursuing his passion for music with the full support of his family.
