A 24-year-old Phoenix woman is dead after being shot by her boyfriend.

Phoenix Police Sergeant Tommy Thompson says the shooting appears to be an accident.

The woman, Amanda Mosley, was being hugged by her 18-year-old boyfriend at a home near 86th Avenue and Camelback Road on Tuesday, but the hug was uncomfortable to her since her boyfriend had a handgun in his waist.
