In the late hours of a Friday night in Reno, Nevada, on February 24, 2017, a confrontation on a residential street turned deadly, claiming the life of 40-year-old Mark McMahon, a White / Caucasian male. The events leading to the fatal shooting began when McMahon’s 2007 Ford Mustang was parked in the northbound lane of Smithridge Drive, partially blocking Filbert Road.
This obstruction led to an altercation with the occupants of a dark-colored passenger car with tinted windows.
The dispute escalated rapidly, and individuals from the dark-colored vehicle discharged multiple firearms, including at least one rifle and one handgun.
