Bradley Pacheco, a 39-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on the night of Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in a violent altercation in northeast Las Vegas. The events that led to his untimely death unfolded inside a residence, where a dispute escalated into a physical fight. The confrontation took a fatal turn when the other individual involved in the altercation retrieved a firearm.
Following the initial struggle, Pacheco was shot once in the abdomen.
He was rushed to University Medical Center in a desperate attempt to save his life, but the single gunshot wound proved to be fatal. The Clark County Coroner's office later confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the abdomen and officially ruled the manner of death as a homicide.
In the wake of the shooting, law enforcement officials launched an investigation that quickly led to a suspect. Russell Fotter, a 23-year-old male, was identified as the individual who had been fighting with Pacheco. Fotter was subsequently arrested and faced a charge of open murder in connection with Pacheco's death. The investigation indicated that the shooting was the direct result of the preceding physical altercation between the two men.
