In the summer of 2017, the life of 32-year-old Mallory Michaelis was tragically cut short in a violent encounter within a Las Vegas apartment. On the afternoon of June 18th, a distressing call was made to the Metropolitan Police Department. The caller, Andrew Vo, aged 34, reported that he had accidentally shot a woman in the stomach at an apartment on West Twain Avenue.
As officers were making their way to the second-story apartment, the sound of a single gunshot echoed from within,
adding a chilling layer to the already grim situation. Upon their arrival at the apartment door, they were met by a 9-year-old child who delivered the devastating news that the man inside had just shot himself.
Inside the residence, police discovered the bodies of both Mallory Michaelis and Andrew Vo. The Clark County coroner's office would later confirm the identities of the deceased. Their investigation determined that Michaelis's death was a homicide resulting from multiple gunshot wounds. Vo's death was ruled a suicide, caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The incident was ultimately classified as a murder-suicide. Family members later revealed that Mallory had been living in fear prior to her death.
