A resident of Cedar City, Utah, she was in attendance at the Route 91 Harvest Festival with her daughter. The country music festival turned into a scene of chaos when a gunman opened fire on the crowd from a hotel window above.
Alvarado was a devoted wife and a loving mother to three children.
She was known for her immense dedication to her family, often found cheering enthusiastically at her children's sporting events or planning memorable parties for them and their friends. Described as having a warm smile and a positive personality, she was a beloved figure within her community. In her free time, she enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing and camping, and cherished family vacations. She operated an in-home daycare, a testament to her nurturing and caring nature.
The perpetrator of this senseless act was identified as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada. He fired upon the concertgoers from his suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. By the time law enforcement reached his room, Paddock was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigations into his background and motives were extensive, but a clear reason for his violent actions was never determined. Paddock acted alone in the shooting, and therefore, no other suspects were identified or arrests made in connection with the tragic death of Heather Lorraine Warino Alvarado and the many other victims of that day.
