In the early morning hours of November 2, 2017, the life of 26-year-old Hispanic female Luz Linares was tragically cut short in Reno, Nevada. Responding to reports of gunshots shortly before 5 a.m., Reno Police officers discovered Linares deceased inside her running vehicle at the intersection of Parkview Street and Mazzone Avenue. An investigation was immediately launched, with detectives from the Robbery/Homicide Unit treating her death as a homicide.
It was determined that she had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
At the time of the initial investigation, authorities worked to piece together the events leading to Linares's death. Police indicated that she had been visiting the area, which is situated between Interstate 580 and the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
