A teenager's remains are found in a shallow grave
On November 2, 1979, the skeletal remains of 17-year-old Jeannie Smith were discovered in Lemmon Valley, Nevada, about a mile from where another victim, Julia Woodward, had been found earlier that year. Jeannie Smith had been missing since October 27, 1978, when she was last seen at the Circus-Circus Hotel in Reno.
