A woman's body is found near her car
Helen Duffner, a woman in her 60s, was found murdered on April 27, 1977, near her vehicle along Mount Rose Highway, south of Reno, Nevada. At the time, Duffner had been living out of her car, a white 1964 Chevy Nova, which was parked close to where her body was discovered. She had been shot, and her body was found on a dirt road off the highway. The case drew attention due to the remote location and the absence of any clear motive for the killing.
