On the evening of November 29, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace at an apartment complex on Selmi Drive in Reno, Nevada, forever altering the lives of a local family. Inside one of the apartments, 24-year-old Hispanic male, Christian Gonzales, was struck by a single bullet. First responders rushed to the scene around 7:00 p.m. and transported him to Renown Medical Center, but his life could not be saved.
The Reno Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation into
the shooting. In the immediate aftermath, details were scarce, and authorities appealed to the public for any information that could lead them to the person or people responsible for Gonzales's death. The investigation into the young man's murder proved to be challenging, with few leads emerging in the initial days and weeks.
