In the early hours of August 1, 2023, the life of 15-year-old Manuel Garcia, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire near the University of Nevada, Reno. The incident, which also claimed the life of 17-year-old Santiago Rodriguez, unfolded around 12:25 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Virginia Street, sending shockwaves through the community.
