In the spring of 2015, a life was cut tragically short in a Reno, Nevada park. Joe Hernandez Jr., a 21-year-old Hispanic male, was at University Ridge Park in north Reno when violence erupted. A fight broke out, and in the ensuing chaos, several gunshots were fired. Hernandez was struck, sustaining critical injuries. Another individual was also shot during the altercation but was fortunate to be treated at a local hospital and subsequently released.
