On June 24, 2018, a tragic incident occurred in the Estates at Galena Meadows in south Reno, Nevada, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Paul Dobbins. The investigation into his murder led to the identification of three suspects.
The primary suspects in the case were Quentin Moore, Jamil Geronimo, and Tyler Hernandez. Quentin Moore, aged 22 at the time, was one of the key individuals wanted in connection with Dobbins' murder.
After being on the run for nearly three months, Moore was finally apprehended on September 5, 2018. The Reno Police Department received tips from the community indicating that Moore was hiding in a residence in the area of 7th Street and Elgin Avenue in northwest Reno. Multiple law enforcement agencies surrounded the apartment complex and initiated negotiations with Moore. Following approximately an hour of negotiations, Moore exited the home voluntarily and was taken into custody without incident.
The other two suspects, Jamil Geronimo and Tyler Hernandez, were apprehended earlier in the investigation. On July 13, 2018, Washoe County Sheriff's Office detectives, assisted by the San Diego Police Department, arrested Geronimo and Hernandez during a traffic stop in southern California. The arrests were made possible by a Secret Witness tip that indicated the two men were staying at a residence in San Diego.
All three suspects were subsequently held at the Washoe County Detention Facility on open murder charges. The trial for the suspects took place in 2019, resulting in significant convictions. The jury found both Jamil Geronimo and Quentin Moore guilty of murder, while Tyler Hernandez was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
The coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Reno Police Department and the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, along with crucial community tips, were instrumental in bringing the suspects to justice and resolving the case of Paul Dobbins' tragic death.
