On August 1, 2023, a tragic incident occurred near the University of Nevada, Reno campus, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Santiago Rodriguez from Reno, NV. The Reno Police Department responded to reports of a fight and multiple shots fired in the 1500 block of N. Virginia St. just after midnight.
