Juliane Kellner, a 42-year-old Caucasian female, had been building a new life for herself in Las Vegas, one filled with newfound faith and sobriety after overcoming a difficult past. She was a mother of three and was known for her outgoing personality and ability to make people laugh.
In June of 2019, she connected with a man named Victor Crisan, 39, on the dating website Plenty of Fish.
After about a month of seeing each other, Kellner was last seen by her roommate on June 28, 2019, when she mentioned she was going to go shooting with a friend. When she didn't return home and missed work on July 1st, her roommate reported her missing the following day.
Friends and family grew increasingly concerned. They discovered a Henderson address in a text message on her phone and found her Volkswagen Jetta abandoned in the parking lot of the Palm Villas at Whitney Ranch apartments. Despite their pleas to law enforcement to check the apartment associated with the vehicle's location, it wasn't until July 10, 2019, that Henderson police conducted a welfare check. Inside the apartment, they discovered the bodies of both Juliane Kellner and Victor Crisan.
The Clark County coroner's office determined that Kellner died from a gunshot wound to the chest in what was ruled a homicide. Crisan was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, leading investigators to conclude it was a murder-suicide. No arrests were made as the sole suspect was deceased. Kellner's family expressed frustration, believing that if authorities had acted sooner on their concerns, her body would not have remained undiscovered for so long.
