In the quiet residential neighborhood of Henderson, Nevada, a tragedy unfolded on the morning of August 3, 2018, ending the life of 60-year-old Joanne Lynn Strussenberg, a Caucasian female. The discovery was made by her caretaker who, upon arriving at the home on Metropolitan Drive, found a grim scene. Both Joanne and her husband, 63-year-old Glenn Strussenberg, were found with no signs of life.
The caretaker immediately alerted authorities, who arrived to a scene that would soon be ruled a murder-suicide.
Investigations by the Henderson Police Department and the Clark County Coroner's Office later revealed the sad details of what had transpired. Joanne had died from a gunshot wound to the head. Her husband, Glenn, was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The evidence pointed to a somber conclusion: Glenn had shot his wife before taking his own life. As the perpetrator was also deceased, no arrests were made in connection with Joanne’s death.
Further inquiries into the couple's life painted a picture of a husband struggling to cope with his wife's declining health. Neighbors and police learned that Joanne had been living with several medical conditions, including dementia. Those who knew them described a couple who were always seen together and had lived in the neighborhood for a very long time.
