In a quiet Las Vegas neighborhood, the evening of March 27, 2020, turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy for the Figueroa family. A 15-year-old Hispanic male named Kevin Figueroa, his older brother, and their father would all lose their lives in a shocking act of violence that unfolded within the walls of their home. The events of that night were set in motion when one of the teenage boys placed a desperate call to the police, reporting that their father was intoxicated and handling a
firearm.
The father, 45-year-old Alejandro Figueroa, reportedly became agitated after a gun he was handling discharged accidentally. It was after this that one of his sons reached out for help. During the 911 call, the dispatcher could hear the chilling sound of gunshots in the background, escalating the urgency of the situation. As officers rushed to the home on Chasing Heart Way, they were met by a teenage girl, Kevin's sister, who was escaping from an upstairs window. She was physically unharmed and informed the police that her two brothers were still inside.
SWAT was called for a potential hostage situation, but upon entering the residence, authorities discovered a horrific scene. Both Kevin and his 17-year-old brother, Alex Figueroa, had been fatally shot multiple times. Their father, Alejandro, was also found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The investigation concluded that in a tragic turn of events, Alejandro Figueroa had shot and killed his two sons before taking his own life. The Clark County Coroner's office later ruled the boys' deaths as homicides and their father's death as a suicide. As Alejandro Figueroa was identified as the sole perpetrator, no other suspects were sought, and no arrests were made in connection with this devastating murder-suicide. The boys' mother was not at home at the time of the incident.
