In the late hours of a summer night in Las Vegas, a young Hispanic man named Eduardo Hernandez Cuevas, aged 20, found himself in a terrifying situation that would ultimately cost him his life. On July 18, 2020, he arrived at a 7-Eleven on West Sahara Avenue in a vehicle with two other individuals. The seemingly ordinary stop at a convenience store quickly escalated into a violent encounter when the two people with him attempted to rob him.
Fearing for his safety, Cuevas managed to escape
from the vehicle and ran into the brightly lit 7-Eleven, desperately seeking help from the store's employee. While a 911 call was being made, he made the fateful decision to step back outside. As he exited the store, he was tragically shot. The Clark County coroner's office would later confirm that Eduardo Hernandez Cuevas died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
The investigation into the senseless killing led Las Vegas police to identify two teenage suspects. Shortly after the shooting, authorities arrested 17-year-old Adrian Womack. A few months later, in November 2020, a second suspect, 16-year-old Jamarquo Williams, was also taken into custody. Both teenagers were booked at the Clark County Detention Center and faced serious charges for their alleged roles in the deadly robbery, including murder with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, and robbery with a deadly weapon.
