Jeremiah Redding, a 13-year-old Black male, was shot on the afternoon of April 28, 2020, in Wilmington, Delaware, in a sudden act of gun violence that unfolded in the 100 block of Ashton Place. Wilmington police said officers were called to the area at about 5:08 p.m. and found Jeremiah suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, but the injuries were too severe. Memorial records list his death as April 30, 2020, two days after the shooting.
