In the early morning hours of November 8, 2020, the life of 34-year-old Brittany Smith, a Black / African American female, was tragically cut short in a violent encounter in Henderson, Nevada. The incident unfolded around 2:35 a.m. at a residence on the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road, near Green Valley Parkway. Responding to a 911 call where the dispatcher could hear "banging and yelling" in the background, Henderson police officers arrived to a grim scene.
