In the early morning hours of March 13th, 2021, a quiet street in Henderson, Nevada, became the scene of a tragedy. Responding to a distressing call at approximately 12:40 a.m., units from the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments arrived at a residence in the 700 block of Descartes Avenue. The caller, who identified himself as 77-year-old Robert Paige, had made a chilling confession: he had killed his wife.
Upon their arrival, officers were able to make contact with Robert Paige
and took him into custody without incident as he exited the home. Once inside, they discovered the body of a 78-year-old Black/African American female, Clifton Gene Paige, who was deceased at the scene. It was apparent that she had sustained a gunshot wound.
The preliminary investigation led to Robert Paige being charged with one count of Open Murder in connection with his wife's death. Following his arrest, he was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. The death of Clifton Gene Paige was noted as the fifth homicide in the City of Henderson for the year 2021.
