In the early evening of December 11, 2021, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a northwest Las Vegas neighborhood, claiming the life of 24-year-old Devion Malik Fields Pickett. An aspiring and beloved member of his community, Pickett, a Black / African American male, was inside a vehicle on the 3900 block of Prescott Pines Street when another car abruptly pulled alongside.
