On a summer day in 1994, a young man’s life was tragically cut short on a basketball court in the Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Randy Hawkins, a 23-year-old male, was an aspiring athlete who played basketball and football at Langley High School. After graduating, he was working as a waiter at a downtown hotel and living with his mother, Gwendolyn Hawkins.
