In a quiet Henderson, Nevada home on April 13, 2022, a tragic event unfolded that ended the life of 10-year-old Dylan Houston. The young, White / Caucasian male was fatally shot inside his family's residence at 193 Sicily Hills Court, near South Gibson Road and Paseo Verde Parkway. The incident, which occurred around 9:15 a.m., resulted in a swift response from local law enforcement.
The Clark County coroner's office later determined that Dylan died from a shotgun wound to the head. His death, which was officially pronounced at 1:25 a.m. on that Wednesday, was ruled a homicide. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, police took his 14-year-old brother into custody. The older brother, who has not been publicly identified due to his age, was booked on a charge of involuntary manslaughter and was expected to appear in Juvenile Court.
Further legal proceedings revealed that the 14-year-old accepted a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aiming a firearm at another human being in what his attorney described as an accidental shooting.
