On the night of June 3, 2022, a violent altercation in a central Las Vegas alley ended the life of 23-year-old Antonio Rodriguez. The Hispanic male from Henderson was fatally shot in an incident that unfolded around 9:34 p.m. in the 1000 block of Sierra Vista Drive, near South Maryland Parkway.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Rodriguez in the alley, where he was pronounced dead.
The Clark County coroner's office would later confirm that he died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
According to investigators, the shooting was the culmination of a dispute involving three men. During the fight, one of the men produced a firearm and shot the other two. In the immediate aftermath, the shooter fled the scene and disappeared into the night. A second man who was also shot during the altercation managed to transport himself to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
In the days following the shooting, law enforcement had not released any information regarding a potential suspect or made any arrests in connection with the case.
