In the late morning of a September day in Las Vegas, a dispute over a ride to school tragically escalated, ending the life of 32-year-old Jamie Nichole Chase. On September 23, 2022, Jamie, a mother of five, drove to a home on Dennis Way in the southeast valley to confront a woman named Lahela Kaiwi-Brewer. Jamie had learned that Kaiwi-Brewer had given her children a ride to school, an arrangement she had previously forbidden as she did not trust the other woman.
