On a Friday afternoon in Las Vegas, the life of Jano Gonzalez Blanco, a 48-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically cut short. On November 4, 2022, Gonzalez Blanco was at a house on Kipling Street, near the intersection of West Washington Avenue and South Jones Boulevard, preparing the residence to be sold. It was there that he was fatally shot multiple times.
The man identified as the suspect in the shooting was 49-year-old Jose Alexis Cabrera Hernandez.
Following the incident at the Kipling Street house, Hernandez fled the scene, leading to a manhunt. Later that day, authorities located him approximately four miles away in a residence near Spring Mountain Road and Jones Boulevard.
Upon locating Hernandez, police discovered he had taken a hostage. The situation escalated, and a SWAT officer intervened to rescue the captive. During the attempt to arrest him, Hernandez was shot by the officer and died at the scene. The hostage was reported to be unharmed. The Clark County coroner's office later confirmed that Jano Gonzalez Blanco's death was a homicide resulting from the gunshot wounds he sustained.
