In the late hours of a summer night in Denver, Colorado, the life of a 31-year-old Black male named Henry Crawford was irrevocably altered. Shortly after midnight on September 7, 1974, as Crawford was returning home, he was shot by an unknown assailant. The sound of the gunshot pierced the quiet of the Park Hill neighborhood, drawing the attention of witnesses who rushed to his side to render aid.
