In the late hours of a summer night in Denver, Colorado, the life of a 31-year-old Black male named Henry Crawford was irrevocably altered. Shortly after midnight on September 7, 1974, as Crawford was returning home, he was shot by an unknown assailant. The sound of the gunshot pierced the quiet of the Park Hill neighborhood, drawing the attention of witnesses who rushed to his side to render aid.
Emergency services were promptly called, and Crawford was transported to a local hospital.
For three long months, he bravely fought for his life, clinging to the hope of recovery. However, the injuries he sustained proved to be too severe. On December 10, 1974, Henry Crawford succumbed to the gunshot wound that had been inflicted upon him. Prior to this tragic event, he was known in his community as the manager of a Mobil Gas Station.
The Denver Police Department investigated the homicide, but a suspect was never identified, and no arrests were ever made in connection with the shooting. The case eventually went cold, leaving the questions surrounding Crawford's untimely death unanswered. The identity of the person responsible for his murder and the motive behind the senseless act of violence remain a mystery to this day.
