On the evening of January 9, 1975, Denver Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at the Burlington Hotel, located in the 2200 block of Larimer Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Leslie Roberts, a 69-year-old man, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Born on January 19, 1905, in Minnesota, Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene.
