On the late evening of May 21, 1975, a 33-year-old Black male named Jimmie Smith had just finished his time at Glenn's Grill in Denver. As he made his way toward his vehicle, the night was shattered by the sound of a gunshot. An unknown assailant fired at Jimmie, leaving him severely wounded.
