In the early morning hours of May 19, 1976, a sudden burst of violence shattered the quiet of the Camp George West Honor Camp in Jefferson County, Colorado. Inside the recreation building, 21-year-old Jarl Hoffman was enjoying a late-night game of billiards with fellow inmates.
