On a summer evening in Denver, what began as a night out for a group of friends ended in tragedy. Eighteen-year-old Marlon Horton, a Black male, was with three friends on July 5, 2002, for Teen Night at a nightclub called the Roxy, located in the area of 25th and Welton Streets.
