In the spring of 2006, a violent incident shattered the peace in a Denver neighborhood. On May 30th of that year, police were called to the 3500 block of West Custer Place after reports of gunfire echoed through the area. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of 41-year-old Javier Aguirre. He was found unresponsive in the doorway of his own home.
Further investigation revealed that Aguirre, a male, had been shot by unidentified individuals.
The wounds he sustained proved to be fatal, and he died at the scene of the attack. The motive for the shooting and the identities of those responsible remain a mystery.
To this day, the case of Javier Aguirre's death is considered a cold case. No arrests have ever been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the homicide. The Denver Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation and bring closure to the friends and family of the victim.
